Programme Announced

by Catherine Edwards on April 13th, 2012

After much internal wrangling over the pros and cons (mostly cons) of the exclamation mark, it seems a suitable time to break it out.

So here it is – the full programme of performances, rehearsed readings, workshops, discussions and networking events, all packed into four days between 24-27 May.

Not forgetting 5×5, the site-specific pieces written by current MPhil Playwriting students at Birmingham University, and a chance to see a TV Drama Shoot Demo in operation.

Tickets should go on sale on the mac website by the end of the day. There will be a Festival Pass available which will enable you to see all performances and rehearsed readings at a discounted price.

We’re meeting the writers of the winning plays tomorrow and should be able to reveal further details on the shows next week. Speaking personally, I’m really pleased to be able to champion such exciting new voices, so I’ll hope you’ll join me in supporting their work and banging the drum for Birmingham as a launchpad for new writing.

Look forward to seeing you there in May.

I’m sneaking onto my phone at work to crack out my own exclamation mark to say: this is all very exciting!
