Entry explosion!
We’ve had a massive boom in entries, and so far every single play has looked brilliant! I don’t envy our reading panel having to choose between them, that’s certain.
In many ways, it’s a shame that we can only showcase three plays. While we’d like to present only the very best in new writing, the simple fact of the matter is that there are just so many fantastic writers out there, and the number just keeps on growing and growing. Part of our ethos is ensuring that these writers, both new and experienced, get the chance to have their voices heard – it’s what makes our jobs so challenging and, ultimately, so rewarding. And though I may only be an Intern at the Festival, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone through their writing.
So I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you (and perhaps raise a cheeky glass!) to all our competition entrants so far. You’ve all made this a show worth watching!

As a Dyslexic Writer l am very excited about this programme, and would like to thank you for your help and kindness. The thought that my piece is mixed with regular writers and will be judged on its own strengths is wonderful, Thank you. Michel Henri
