Capital Theatre Festival is a platform for new and emerging writers and theatre-makers, bridging the gap between grassroots artist development, and regional and national theatre producers.

The festival offers opportunities for writers to showcase new work, explore new ideas and develop new skills.

Artistic Policy

We champion work which is innovative in thought or process, with a particular focus on artists who challenge and interrogate their craft.

This year, we are specifically looking at creating and sourcing new work for The Hexagon, a small scale performance space which lends itself to economical staging and intimate storytelling.

We are committed to supporting plays with a unique voice or perspective. We encourage submissions from playwrights, devisers, writer-performers and theatre-makers of any designation working with the spoken and written word. Find out more details about our current opportunities.

The Festival will be held from 20-24 November 2013, hosted and supported by mac birmingham and supported by The National Lottery through Arts Council England.
